Screenvision

Challenge: Screenvision, a leader in cinema advertising, needed to find a way to encourage moviegoers to ‘Silence their mobile phones’ before a movie started.

To help solve this challenge, and create a unique in-theatre mobile program that kept moviegoers entertained, Rip Road conceived Ticket Talk.

Moviegoers – at every screening – were encouraged to pull out their mobile phones and text a unique code to enter to instantly win big prizes. Once they did, they received messages asking them to ‘SILENCE UR PHONE.’

After the movie was over, and based on the unique code texted in, our Screenvision application asked moviegoers to rate the movie they just saw – creating the country’s largest user-generated movie rating system.

We also designed a Rewards program into Ticket Talk aimed at driving participants back to the movies. Participants were directed to the Ticket Talk website where they were able to register, track and redeem points for FREE movie tickets and other movie related items. Using the data we capture, Screenvision will create tailored SMS campaigns to specific groups of moviegoers.

This program has successfully piloted in the New York metropolitan area and will soon be rolled out nationally. As part of Ticket Talk, Rip Road has already run over 60,000 successful Mobile sweepstakes.
